So, you must start with the yellow 1 Ball, then the blue 2 Ball, and so on. After the cue hits the 1 ball, any following ball that goes into a pocket counts. You just cannot hit a ball that is higher than the lowest numbered ball first. The player who hits in the 9 ball wins. Winning by hitting the 9 ball in only happens when either it is the last ball on the table, or if it is hit in after the lowest numbered ball on the table is struck (for example, if you bounce the 1 ball into the 9 ball, which goes into the pocket, you win).
