If it's a jack, the dealer instantly scores 2 points. After the crib is created, the remaining 4 cards are played by taking turns. Points are scores by adding up to 15 or 31, or by creating runs and pairs. The stack cannot exceed 31 and is cleared away if neither player can play a card. Once all of the cards are played, the next part of the game is referred to as the show. At this point, the cards you played can be grouped together in a similar way (15, 31, pairs, runs, etc) to score points. The dealer follows the same rules with their crib, which is also 4 cards - 2 that each player discarded at the start of the hand.
